The Discover section

Discover

The Discover section shows you interesting content beyond your regular feed. Unlike the feed, Discover is not purely chronological - but every post is clearly labeled so you know why it appears.

The three layers

Your topics Posts from topics you follow, ranked by discussion depth. A post with several substantive comments ranks higher than one with many reactions but no discussion. Labeled: "Because you follow [topic]".

Related topics Topics that frequently appear alongside your interests. If you follow "Machine Learning", you might see posts from "AI Ethics" or "Data Science". Labeled: "Similar to [topic]".

New on insteady Content from topics you do not follow yet, filtered by a minimum quality threshold. Labeled: "New on insteady".

What Discover does not do

  • No optimization for time-on-site or click-through rate
  • No paid visibility
  • No use of profile data or location for targeting

Search

Use the search bar in Discover to search for people, posts, topics, and companies.
