Getting started on insteady

Getting started

Welcome to insteady. Here are the key steps to get up and running.

1. Create an account

Go to insteady.net and click Create account. You will need:

• A display name
• A username
• An email address
• A password (at least 8 characters)

After signing up, you will receive a confirmation email. Confirm your email address using the link it contains.

2. Complete your profile

Click Profile in the navigation and then Edit profile. Add:

• A clear job title
• An About description
• Work experience and education
• Your skills

3. Follow topics

Open the Feed and select topics that interest you on your first visit. You can also browse all topics under Topics in the navigation.

4. Discover and connect

Under Discover you will find interesting posts, topic suggestions, and people you might know. Send connection requests to professionals in your field.

5. Write your first post

Click Write in the navigation and choose a post type. Select at least one topic so your post can be found by others.

Tips for getting started

• Complete your profile before you start posting - it is your professional calling card.
• Follow 5 to 10 topics from your field.
• Read and comment before writing your first post.
• Quality beats quantity on insteady.
