Exporting your data

Export your data

Under Art. 20 GDPR, you have the right to receive all data stored by insteady in a machine-readable format.

What you can export

• Profile data (name, bio, location, links)
• Career history, education, certificates, projects
• Skills
• Your posts and comments
• Reactions
• Followed topics, people, and connections
• Job applications (job title, company, status, cover letter)
• Settings and visibility preferences

What cannot be exported

Message contents are end-to-end encrypted. insteady has no access to the content of your messages - they are therefore not included in the export.

Starting the export

1. Go to Settings.
2. Scroll to the Export your data section.
3. Click Download your data.
4. The JSON file downloads immediately.

Format

The export is a single JSON file containing all data sections in a structured format. It can be opened with any text editor or JSON viewer.
